Despite warnings Comstock was great

We had a good time in Ashland. It was a perfect night. Cheryl told us that everybody loved us except for one drunk guy...I guess the jokes on him, he spent five bucks to get in to see us. The next morning we all headed out of town in the Suburban to Comstock. We had the 5:00 before TG Shepard and John Connely (sp?). We got to chat w/the band before hand which was pretty cool b/c I had gotten to play w/them years ago...Think I may have been 15...ish??? It was for the Colgate Country Showdown w/KaDee Hendrickson. They were the band that learned the songs and performed w/us. Pretty cool.

After that we headed up to the beer tent to play w/the Hayseed Cowboys. I've never really gotten to hang out w/those guys before but they were a lot of fun...helpful too! They let us use all of their back line. We were feeling lazy I guess. ;) Thanks guys!

As far as Comstock goes, I was warned by everyone and their dog not to play there for whatever reason and I have to say that it was great. Smaller crowd, yes, but Don, Jim and their crew were so accommodating and helpful. Made sure we had places to sit and something to drink at all times. I want to encourage everyone to support them next year. I'm from the area and it helps out all of the small towns around and is a great time.

This last weekend we headed out to Shooters in North Platte. I would love to tell you all about Travis and his "performance" but he will have to blog about that on his myspace...My mother reads this one. ;) Let's just say, it was a woman's 40th Birthday party and we had instructions to "embarrass the hell out of her." I think we/he did a good job. I have pictures, but again, my mother.

Afterwards we had the pleasure of hanging out w/the Shooters crew. Curtis took us out to breakfast at Perkins and I'm really not sure what time we hit the pillow but we had a blast. Thanks guys!

Saturday night I met an old friend of my Grandma and Grandpa Sillivan. It was a little odd for me. Grama was my "biggest fan" (as she always said) and she made every performance I had up until I was 18. To that point it was all competitions and school functions. She didn't live long enough to meet my band or see a performance w/them. I spent most of the night wondering what she would think of what I'm doing now...Being a good Mormon woman I'm not sure what she would think...or maybe I do and don't like it. Either way, I think of her a lot and wish she could have met everyone. She may not have completely approved but she would have been a front row staple! Anyway, good shows, good people, good fun...I gotta go...
